I’ve had fibromyalgia since I was 19 years old. I know what it’s like to have so little energy you can’t stand up, to be in so much pain you want to cry, and to know that the painkillers you were prescribed will make no difference.
I know what it’s like to struggle through, trying to live a normal life. To try and bring up children whilst just wanting to spend all day, every day in bed. I know what it’s like to have to give up a career you worked hard for. And I know what’s like to have your child caring for you and their siblings because you can’t manage it. But I also know what it’s like to come out of the other side of that. Sound therapy is the reason I can function again; the reason my children do not need to look after me anymore; the reason I am able to run a business as well as look after my family.
I’ve turned my life around using sound therapy – from managing fibromyalgia and insomnia, to dealing with huge emotional trauma and even a severe phobia. And it’s because I know how powerful sound therapy is that I share it with others. Why stay stuck in old patterns, old pain and on endless medication when there’s a way out?
I studied with the British Academy of Sound Therapy, qualifying in 2009 and becoming the first person in the UK to be awarded the Certificate in Sound Therapy qualification. In 2017, I studied with BAST again and earned a Practitioner Level Diploma in Sound Therapy.
What this means is that you have access to a wide variety of instruments and treatment techniques to help deal with your pain. Physical pain, yes, but also emotional, mental and spiritual pain. Whether you’re dealing with trauma, anxiety, anger, back ache, destructive habits, grief, insomnia or something else, sound can likely help you.
